The early years of life are a rich time for brain development and a wonderful opportunity to build strong foundations for lifelong social-emotional health.

As an infant/early childhood mental health specialist, my approach is rooted in the belief that young children thrive best when underlying emotional needs are understood and met with care. I love helping parents connect with their child in new ways and better understand what is being communicated through challenging behaviors and big emotions.

I’m a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Certified Early Intervention Specialist (CEIS), and Registered Dance/Movement Therapist (R-DMT). Throughout my 10 years experience in the mental health field I worked primarily as a home-based child and family therapist with infants and toddlers birth to 3 years old. During this time I developed a special interest in working with young children experiencing anxiety in response to traumatic events, the loss of loved ones, and stressful family changes. I discovered a particular affinity for supporting adoptive and foster families navigating behavioral and attachment challenges. The priority of building secure attachment and addressing early trauma/loss subsequently became the focus of my work as a therapist.

At growing roots child therapy, I use expressive arts, skills-based, and play-based therapies to assess and treat various early childhood issues. My approach is attachment-focused, trauma-informed, and developmentally-based. I offer dyadic parent-child therapy and individual child therapy. For families looking for guidance on specific parenting concerns I provide coaching and consultations on a variety of topics.

I’m passionate about infant/early childhood mental health and committed to expanding my expertise in this evidenced-based field. I’m a member of the Massachusetts Association for Infant Mental Health and am currently pursuing additional training and certification to become a registered play therapist.

More about me

Outside of tending to growing roots child therapy, you’ll find me tending to family life and seeking balance amidst the joyful and fast-paced world of parenting. I find the most supportive ways to keep myself centered involve spending time outside, walks with dear ones, and moving my body (yoga and running are my favorites). I love eating good food (especially when I don’t have to cook it) and designing playful, easeful, and sensory-supportive spaces.
