Both! I see families in person at my Northampton office. Initial intakes, consultations, and parent sessions are offered through Telehealth.

Yes, I’m currently an In-Network provider with Blue Cross Blue Shield.
For insurance plans with Out-of-Network benefits I can provide a monthly itemized receipt called a Superbill for you to submit directly to your insurance provider. To use this benefit, you'll pay the full session fee at the time of service and your insurance provider would reimburse a portion of the cost. Please check with your insurance company to determine your out-of-network benefits.
When speaking with your insurance provider, you may consider asking the following:
Do I need a referral from my primary care physician?
How many outpatient mental health sessions are covered per year?
What is my deductible and has it been met?
What is my reimbursement rate for an out-of-network provider?
-
My rates for therapy and consultations are $140 per 50 minute session. The initial intake appointment is $175.
-
I accept credit card payment through a secure client portal.
-
I have a 24 hour cancellation policy. If a session is canceled with less than 24 hours notice you’ll be charged a $70 late cancellation fee. There are exceptions for emergencies and illness, which can be discussed on a case-by-case basis. If your appointment is missed without calling to cancel you’ll be charged the full session fee.

Yes! You know your child better than anyone. Information you provide at the intake and subsequent parent sessions regarding how your child is doing at home/school, including any new behaviors or worries, is an invaluable part of the therapy process.
-
While I don’t share specific details about what is said in sessions, I do share my overall observations, clinical impressions, and any recommendations I think would benefit your child. After an initial assessment period of 4-5 appointments we will schedule a parent session to discuss these topics.
-
I’m always available via email or the client portal for secure messaging regarding questions and updates you think I should be aware of about your child and/or family. I’m also available for brief check-ins before or after your child’s session. If you’d like a more thorough conversation you can schedule a parent session.

If parents have joint legal custody I ask both parents to sign treatment consent forms in addition to other practice policy forms. Exceptions are made in situations where a restraining order is in place. If one parent has sole legal custody, only this parent needs to sign intake paperwork. In this case, I require a copy of supporting court documentation which can be easily uploaded to the client portal.
It’s important to note that I do NOT write letters in support of custody arrangements nor do I help determine the best interest of the child as it pertains to custody issues.

If you have questions about your particular situation, please reach out. I’ll do my best to help you determine the best course of action for your family. Please know that if you start one type of service and discover you’d like to switch to a different format, this is totally possible.
Parent-child sessions are geared towards enhancing trust, connection, and secure attachment. They offer an experiential way to learn more about how your child communicates and their emotional needs.
Individual child therapy is geared towards children 3 years and older who would benefit from a space to explore and process thoughts and feelings without parents present. Parent-child sessions can be added to individual child therapy formats if we decide they would be beneficial for your child.
Consultations are a good choice for specific parenting questions or problem-solving difficult routines and behaviors. They can also be a good way to further assess whether your child needs additional support.

At this time I have limited afternoon availability. Most of my openings are during school hours. Most schools and childcare providers are very understanding of the need for counseling appointments during the school day especially when behavior and learning are impacted by issues being addressed in therapy. I can provide notes for missed time if requested. Please reach out to see my current availability.

This largely depends on your child’s needs and the goals of therapy. Some families are looking for short-term support for a specific life transition or developmental issue (tantrums, biting, aggression, etc.). Other families want consistent weekly support for the foreseeable future amidst ongoing stressors or specific needs.

Yes! I love working with children exhibiting sensory preferences and aversions. I have lots of strategies to support regulation and tools to help you understand how to adapt routines and environments to your child’s sensory needs. BUT I may also suggest your child undergo a sensory processing evaluation from a Pediatric Occupational Therapist who specializes in sensory integration disorders.

The first step is reaching out via my contact form or email with any questions you may have before getting started. Once you’re ready to schedule, I’ll send you an invitation to a client portal where you’ll fill out intake paperwork and schedule your first appointment.
The intake appointment (60 minutes) is with parent(s) only. This is a chance to review paperwork, learn about the therapy process, and talk in more depth about your child’s background, presenting issues, and how I can best support them.
Over the first 4-5 sessions I’ll further assess your child’s needs in order to clarify goals for therapy. After this initial assessment period we’ll meet for a parent session to discuss my observations and recommendations.
For parent consultations, your first appointment will address the concerns and questions you listed in your intake paperwork. Since consultations are typically a short-term service, we’ll determine next steps and recommendations for additional appointments together at the end of each session.
